Normal Rosella vs. Super Rosella

I recently acquired a few plants of Super Rosella. The leaves are bigger and the flower bracts are much longer and more substantial compared to the normal Rosella. Just look at the pictures to compare. This Super Rosella has more commercial value because it takes less flowers to produce the same amount of Rosella syrup compared to the normal form.

This is the normal type of Rosella sold in markets and organic farms.
This is the Super Rosella. Notice how much more elongated are the various parts of the flower bract. This particular flower bract is still not "ripe" for picking yet compared to normal type shown above.

Etlingera elatior "White Torch"

My White Torch ginger has grown into a mature clump. It is now very free flowering, just like the Red Torch. The flower also has the same fragrance as the Red Torch so maybe one day i will use it in my assam curry fish dish as well.
